Hello from Norway where I'm presently gigging for the month. Just came across this great forum site a little while back. Thought I would say "hey" and hope to hear from any of you who might know of my work over the years.

Nice to have you John. Can you shed some light on your time with Ricky Nelson. I've read you are responsible for the great arrangement of Rick's "lost" hit "Dream Lover".

    Heatherly,
It's funny you should mention Rick's hit Dream Lover, as I am now working closely with Bear Family Records on a complilation Rick Nelson box set, which will include FOR THE FIRST TIME, the original recordings from THE MEMPHIS SESSIONS album, which I worked on with Rick and featured DREAM LOVER.
We who originally worked on this album in 1979 are all very excited about this project as it will be the first time since the the actual sessions that these tracks have been released in their original state..before CBS butchered it with new overdubs after Rick's death.
I worked very closely with Rick on this project, which marked the first time Rick had ever recorded outside California. So I will drop in here from time to time with updates, or you can visit my site at www.johnbeland.com for news on this neat project. Thanks so much for asking...

:righton: WOW! was not expecting that! Thanks, I don't own any Bear Family products (I wish) but I will be saving up for this! Rick's 70's output is my favorite and with you working on this I will have no reason but to buy it! Thanks for letting us know, Mr. Beland!

Blencathra...Of course I loved the Beatles. It was the thrill of my life to be signed to Apple Records ( by Ringo ) in 1973. To meet him and be signed to their label was one of the highlites of my life.
    Cheers

    Dean Of Rock..
The "live" album I think you're refering to is the one we recorded in Tahoe in 78 or 79 at the Sahara Hotel. Yes, I believe they are hoping to include that as well into the box set. I think they are in talks with the Nelson estate on the release of these tapes. I was on that gig, along with the Sweet Inspirations on vocals. We had a great band then....and a smoking show. Ricky was fabulous...

Ahhh the Brady Bunch. I was just a teenage new kid on the block when I sang it, along with Paul Parrish and Lois Dalton. I was more impressed by the $350.00 check I recieved for doing it, than the actual show. LOL.....
    Thanks pencilchbewer
