    Those pics are March 18, 1965 in Obertauern, Austria during an evening break at the hotel lounge where they were staying during the filming of Help. John is using Jackie Spelter's Fender. Another link
    Reports are that the lounge owner didn't care who it was on stage and adamantly told them to turn it down!

    I don't think he was tripping that day in the Haight.

    Probably a good thing as that became a very heavy scene all on it's own.:shake:

    As I look over some of these pictures I've got to say I think those Epiphone guitars looked so much better with the finish. I didn't like the look of John's guitar after he stripped it.

    I don't know what this event was, but that banner is WKNR, "Keener 13",
    Detroit, Mich. Yes, the very same WKNR that launched the "Paul is Dead"
    campaign.
