Yeah, says "100% medically accurate" but I reckon the third person in that 'chain' would be pretty starved.

Disturbing but you know it's a film made purely to disturb so that defeats the object to me. Odd but true.

They had an article about it in the new the new Rue Morgue magazine. Interesting concept, but I don't think I could sit through it.

I wouldn't mind being the second person in the chain, but being the third person would be pretty gross.

Yes, I was being ironic. Being anywhere in that chain would be pretty horrific. Well actually being the first person would be kind of fun, sort of like real life.

I barely got through the trailer. That was a couple of weeks ago, and it still make me sick to think there are people out there who think of this stuff, and even worse, people who will patronize it.

It's funny, whenever you have a demented scientist in a movie, he performs the most bizarre surgeries, like making a human centipede, or sewing two heads on a single body, or making a man out of dead parts. He never tries to find a cure for high blood pressure, or a medicine for a stuffed up nose.

Let's say you do create a human centipede. How does that contribute to society? You haven't made a better centipede. You haven't improved anyone's quality of life. At least create a human butterfly. Something along those lines. Something pretty that can fly. I can see people lining up for that operation. But a human centipede? Who would volunteer for that? Maybe somebody with a fetish, but that's all.

Hell, I'd go see a human centipede in a zoo or a freak show. I'd even pay. But it better go to the bathroom, that's the only reason I'm there.

Roger Ebert's review explains the doctor's motives: he's insane, and because he is in this film about making a human centipede. (Ebert is being a smart-***.)

It seems movies have reached the Roman Colosseum stage for our society.

  13. Repulsive without the absurdity of a David Lynch to cut that little bit of nasty edge. My question is this--WHY does this exist?

Like most torture porn out there it suggests a darker, deeper despair in the soul of our modern society than I cared to imagine.

They should put it on a double-bill with Brown Bunny.

Aww, but Chloe Sevigny seems to have come out alright from that.

  18. No, Vincent Gallo seemed the one that "came" with that movie .

I'm not buying that the sex scene in Brown Bunny is the real deal...

Yes...and Herschell Gordon Lewis' 1963 film "Blood Feast" and Ruggero Deodato's 1980 film "Cannibal Holocaust" are BOTH heart-warming family classics!

No one's volunteering to be a part of the human centipede, the doctor is kidnapping his victims. And he's making a human centipede because, as others point out, he's insane, and insane people think of depraved, weird stuff. And, frankly, it's a movie. No one's going to be scared of a human butterfly, but a human centipede, where people are connected from anus to mouth? That's scary. And centipedes are kind of gross, too, human or otherwise.

At the time of the filming and of the release, I'd read that they were dating, so...maybe it was. :sigh:

It wasn't. The anatomy in question was borrowed from a famous p*rn director.
