I watched Mysterious Island on BD. The PQ was very natural looking. It didn't look like they removed much, if any, grain. The film is nostalgic and mildly amusing for me.

Attention, last night's film was Stripes on BD. It's one of the 80's funnier films if you ask me but you can't ask me that soldier because it's an order. I could watch it again tonight...

Same here. This past weekend we watched the Finnish film "Christmas Story" that was filmed in the Lapland region of Finland. It's a gorgeous and authentic-looking telling of the humble origins of Father Christmas. There are some issues with the English dubbing, but all the good far outweighs those quibbles.

A holiday film with an engaging story and no commercialism--I'm all for that. :righton:

    That sounds great!
I'll have to look that one up...my wife and I are setting a goal to watch a Christmas movie per night from the end of November till the end of December...problem is I have too many! Geez...got to stop buying Christmas movies!

We rented it from the local library.

Here is the Amazon link so you'll know what to look for, or if you want any more info about it.

I'm watching "Queen of Spades" over a period of nights in dribs and drabs. (Maybe I just don't want it to be over.) Anyway, waiting for a nice cold snowy night, with a bottle of vodka at my elbow to view it uninterrupted. I wish this was on BR.

I saw PROM. Coach Taylor's daughter starred in it. Wasn't bad.

I Love You, Phillip Morris. Just okay. Based on a true story, I think it had lots of potential but the movie was all over the place.
