Bob Dylan & The Band - The Basement Tapes MFSL

Got mine in the mail yesterday from Music Direct. Managed to score #121 on vinyl. Sounds so much better than the original pressing on my set up. What do you guys think?

Same here. I've got a mint original LP now. I think I'll wait for the new CD (SACD) version.

 

Can you get this anywhere besides Music Direct? It's over $20 to ship to Canada from them....

 

Most of the usual suspects will have it soon if they don't have it already: Acoustic Sounds, Elusive Disc, SoundStageDirect, etc.

Sounds like Quaint War to my ears.

 

Krieg worked at MFSL in the early years, when Shawn started working, he a really good engineer. They may be growing there staff.
He's working with Rob, who I trust and use to work at Sony and know there (Sony/Columbia) product. Rob might be doing the SACD.

 

I am a casual Bob Dylan fan and a casual The Band fan and I am thinking of picking up this double LP reissue. Looking forward to seeing reviews first!

 

And as an owner of the original LPs, look forward to more comparisons to that...

 

Krieg mastered Pink Floyd 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' MFSL gold Ultradisc . And he is credited as such in the booklet. Definitely one of the original MFSL guys.

 

I had no idea this existed until now... And now I have to spend money :S

 

I don't see this as an audiophile release
