Worst Blu ray covers. Then and now.

    Post one or some of your Blu ray Disc covers and if possible, how it fares against a past release.

    Mine is the new BD for Coma, where Warner recycled the awful-looking DVD cover. I remember a US Laserdisc some 17 or 18 years ago from MGM which cover looked fantastic.

    They do these things all of the time. They think their new generic cover will not offend anybody and lead to more sales.

    I think they do this to make old movies look "new". Can't post any examples from my phone right now. I think it would be cool if they tried using the original theatrical posters instead.

    I'm at work so can't post pic's but The Hunt For Red October is lame on BR, the LD is much better

    The blu of King Kong from 1976 pales in comparison to the CED cover.

    They seem to be carrying over the DVD tradition of "floating heads" instead of the original theatrical artwork. I'll be there are marketing surveys to prove that "floating head" covers attract and/or sell better.
