Just a heads up for any Tal Wilkenfeld fans on the forum. She will be reuniting with Jeff Beck for a set this weekend at the Crossroads Guitar Festival at MSG . Also she has been in the studio with Joe Walsh working on his new blues album and word is there may be a tour late this year or next spring/summer.

She is fantastic. Totally blew me away the first time I saw her with Jeff Beck on the first (I think) Crossroads DVD.

She plays very well, but I sure do have a hard time looking at her. (not)

Just as long as she keeps resting that loveliness on the bass body.

She's gotta be the youngest person to play with all three Yardbird guitarists.

The cool thing to me is she seems totally unintimidated playing with Jeff. She's laying it down, but smiling, moving around and having a good time like it's no big deal that shes playing with "JEFF BECK". She acts like she deserves to be there, and she does deserve to be there.

Yeah, a chick plays an instrument with a rock dinosaur and it's world news tonight. Big deal. Let her write something before she gets all these accolades. God, you'd think people here would be harder to please. If she was some anonymous guy playing bass with Beck no one would notice.

Why should she be intimidated? Because she's younger than him? She's a musician. It IS no big deal she's playing with Beck.

Absolutely! Her pure joy in being a musician shows every moment she's on stage. I would love to see her tour with Jeff again or Joe Walsh for that matter. Hope it happens.

You are right. We are losers for liking her bass playing and the fact that Jeff could probably pick almost any bass player in the world but he picked a 21 year old shouldn't impress us. Come to think of it, you are right again: it's no big deal she's playing with Jeff Beck. Thanks for setting us straight.

I don't agree at all. Her bass playing is truly outstanding! She just happens to be really dam hot.

She has written something! You need to check out her "Transformation" CD that came out about 6 years ago. Pretty cool.

She has a solo album out ("Transformation") that is quite good.

Looks to me like Spice9 had a rough evening, particularly at about 10:45. Wow.

I first heard her with Jeff. Had no idea she was a she as I just listened to the music. I noted a good bass player, timing is key and locking in with percussion. That was loud and clear.

Then the nice surprise she is a very good looking young lady.

I think Spice9 was getting at the fact that many people give Tal accolades due to her looks. She's a good bass player, but not phenomenal. I'm sure Jeff Beck doesn't mind looking at her either.

I understand that there there are those who just see a pretty young woman and that's all they see, but I think she's a helluva bassist. I first saw her in 2006 when I went to see the Allman Brothers at the Beacon. The band left the stage and she came on, and I looked at her and I thought, this girl is about 14, hopefully this is over soon and we get the ABB back soon. She started playing, and in 30 seconds I did a 180 and thought, wow, this is one talented girl. She proceeded to play a great solo, replete with slapping and much funk(the place went wild), then made her way to 'Elizabeth Reed', where the band(minus Oteil) joined her for a 45 minute version, with a second bass solo in the tune(and the drums break). To say I was impressed would be an understatement.
