Black Crowes 2013 tour setlists

Last night was a major shift in their set list. Nice to see it. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next several weeks.

Isn't Atlanta sort of a home base for the band?

 

Yes, Atlanta is their hometown. They recorded Three Snakes & One Charm in a rented house in Atlanta from October - December 1995. The Robinson Brothers are from a local suburb and when Steve Gorman first moved to Atlanta he roomed with Chris.

 

I thought this was the case. They always seem to have had some special shows in Atlanta over the years.

I love it that they keep playing Descending at almost every show: it one, if not THE favourite song of the Crowes for me...

I hope this reunion lasts and they give thought to some new material; obviously they0re not coming over to Spain for me to see it... At least please release Wiser... on CD, dammit!

 

Apparently Descending segues into Jumpin' Jack Flash too. An unlikely switch, but one I'm looking forward to hearing when I get round to downloading some stuff from LiveBlackCrowes.com.

 

They played that in Chicago and it worked well.

 

Yes, I've seen a video on YouTube of the Chicago performance a couple of times (think I posted it somewhere above too). But it starts after the segue, so very interested to hear that.

Looks like there's a decent chance the Nashville shows will AGAIN not be released. So frustrating.

 

Yes, it's infuriating. Fingers crossed that second night comes out.

 

They're covering billy joe royal's version of hush!?

 

Every night of the tour so far. Sounds like the Joe South version to me, although I don't know the Billy Joe Royal version.

 

It reminds me more of Deep Purple's arrangement!

Sounds very cool, actually, though I was baffled when I first saw it on the setlists....

 

It is interesting to note that the 2 Nashville shows are not available for download at livedownloads. I wonder if they are going to use those shows for a live cd release or dvd

 

Or would there be issues around rights with so many special guests?

I doubt the Nashville shows will come out. Too many issues due to all the guests.

 

Frampton was the only guest for the first show so that shouldn't be an issue.

 

Maybe Peter Frampton is unhappy with his performance so he doesn't want it released.

 

Would love a night of all covers, they know how to pick 'em.
