    NWA.

I believe category 1 for them. Nope, looks like Category 2 because of DJ Yella.

Didn't the Moody Blues do this between the Live + 5 and Octave (although Blue Jays was not technically a solo album since it was two of the MBs, plus Moraz and Edge worked within the confines of other bands).

Do Talking Heads and Duran Duran count in that they did bands?

Genesis in Cat 1 (depending upon how literally one interprets 'original lineup')

As I don't like them, I'm only guessing here, but would The Eagles make category 2?

Again, not my field of expertise, but I would think both Mountain and West, Bruce and Laing would qualify for #2.

Hayward, Lodge and Moraz also did full fledged solo albums in this era (though Moraz of course wasn't a Moody yet).

The Stones in #2, if you count oddities like Willie & the Poorboys and "Pipes of Pan etc" as solo albums.

Maybe no to this. Has Ricky Fataar ever released a solo album? Does the Rutles album count?

Also, I am not including pre-Beach Boys stuff like Flame or The Flames albums.

Not getting into later lineups, but every original/semi-original BB (including Bruce and David Marks, if you count the Moon) did one. Yes and Kiss wouldn't count either if you included all lineups.

David has done a few solo albums lately (last 10-12 years), as well. Blondie Chaplin has a few under his belt, too.
