This is a nice reveal. I've read about the Bobby Ace shows but thought there were no existing tapes. Add it to the pile!

They are pressing 6300 copies on vinyl, I'm not sure this will be that hard to find. I am definitely in for some Pigpen love!

So how did Pigpen wind up with 6 solo acoustic tracks at the end of the gig? Did everyone else go to a party and Pigpen stayed around to perform?

Interesting Dave. I usually go to RSD so I'll be looking for this. Any idea how much it will cost?

I wonder if these are among the newly returned 70's tapes Dave mentioned... Either way, the fact that this show turned up after all these years is pretty amazing.

The bottom line, though: acoustic 1970 Dead = count me in!

Edited to add, after perusing the setlists-- amazingly, that fan who jotted down the lists back in 1970 totally nailed this show-- I'm really hoping the other two shows in this run turned up too.

Record Store Day is in April. How does this being released in November qualify as "RSD"???

Black Friday "Record Store Day".... It is run by the same consortium that run RSD. The same rules apply, just that it is held on Black Friday. Technically it is just like RSD.

Can you really preorder RSD items? I thought they were exclusive to in stores on that day. Has anyone done this with success through Bullmoose on previous RSDs?
