I voted for: Deep Purple, KISS, Nirvana, Hall & Oates and The Zombies.

About damn time they got to Link Wray and The Zombies.

 

I'm sure ample amounts of grousing will result, but that's a damned good list. Very happy to see Peter Gabriel and Hall and Oates on there.

Nirvana is a shoo-in - otherwise, it's anyone's guess who'll make it...

 

I have mixed feelings about a R&R Hall of Fame, but I must say.....

YES----finally.

 

Good to see the Replacements

 

Deep Purple, Yes, Paul Butterfield, Link Wray & The Meters for me.

However, my guess is that most of these won't make the cut.

 

Linda should make the final cut since there is no other female on the ballot to take votes away from her and her profile right now is high

 

Nirvana and Linda Ronstadt for sure.

 

Best lineup in a long time. Still won't pay much attention myself, but a more promising direction.

It will likely be Nirvana, Ronstadt, Deep Purple, 1 rap artist, and The Zombies.

 

I can't understand why it has taken Deep Purple so long to get in. I hope 2014 is the year. And it would be nice for Jon Lord's family.

 

And fun to watch the dynamics if Rod Evans shows up for the induction!

Those of us who worked at record stores in the '70's KNOW how big Linda Ronstadt really was then. It's a disgrace she is not already in. One of the best female rock voices ever.

And they could throw in Ry Cooder too, please. Listening to Purple Valley and I really love this lp and hadn't played it since my equipment upgraded. What a great album.

 

Cat Stevens? Seriously?

 

That's going to be some pretty stiff competition. You know Nirvana's a shoe in and Rondstadt is likely. Beyond that, I can't say, but I'm guessing Deep Purple and Yes are longshots this time (though I'd be happy to see them get the nod).

 

Would he talk to David Coverdale or Joe Lynn Turner?

 

Not likely, but if the Paul Butterfield Blues Band got in, who would accept the award? Elvin Bishop? Most of the guys are dead.
