I recently had dinner with a friend of mine who is in a book club. I have little interest in a book club, but I think an audio club might be interesting. Here's what I have in mind (loosely based on how the book club works): Meet once a month at a club member's house. The meeting site alternates each month. A different club member provides the food. (Usually pizza.) The member providing food suggests 3 possible topics at the previous meeting (eg. Jan.) from which the other members pick 1 for the following month (eg. Feb.) Potential topics: A particular album/recording An band/artists catalog A particular genre/era etc. Discussion of audio hardware & collectibles would also be entertaining/inevitable. I live & teach in Golden, CO at CSM. Married (to a tolerant non-audiophile), mid-50s. PM if interested. Maybe we can be the first in a nationwide series of Hoffman audio clubs!
I'll give this another try. Feel free to post if you know of any clubs like this elsewhere. I'm curious if we're all just sitting in our basements listening to music and typing on a laptop. (I'm in the kitchen at the moment)
