Which makes the 2LP more sense than this QRP press.

The Optimal 2LP press that I bought on release is an absolutely flawless pressing.

Yeah, QRP must wait for the European copies to dry up before they can go ahead and press copies. I read that initially the Europe release was 10,000 copies. I now wonder if that was true. I find it hard to believe they haven't sold 10,000 copies yet.

What’s the deal with this release? Same as record 1 in the 2 record set released earlier this year? Pressed in US instead of Germany? Any other known differences or just conveniently releasesd two weeks before Christmas?

Looks like it's replacing the 2 LP version. Few now have stock so assume that is deleted?

I know they are good. But not flawless. Just wanted to know if there was any known difference except for pressing plant used.

I didn't buy the 2 LP version because I don't need to have "bonus tracks" on vinyl.

The bonus tracks sound better than the new mix ! :)

Interesting. In what way do they sound better? Or is it because the remix is, well, blah?

I'm just as puzzled as you are.

I think it’s just the pressing plant. However, I am curious about it enough to possibly buying it again. Hope it has the QRP sticker.

The remix is 'blah' as you put it. Bonus tracks sound less compressed.

Doe the deadwax info all match the 2lp version? The single version has more in deadwax than is listed under the 2lp version on discogs.

  23. QRP usually uses other's metal part's or lacquers to start with. They probably will make their own stampers. If QRP uses the metal parts from Optimal, their pressings will probably have Optimal's cutting lathe rumble, but will probably be using a higher quality of vinyl. If QRP can get the stampers centered correctly then their version has the potential to blow away Optimal's.
I'm giving QRP another try to see if they've learned how to press records. Seeing as they are 180g, instead of their normal 200g, I wouldn't think that Analog Productions is behind this but UMe might be trying them out to see if they can do a better job than Optimal.

Yes, they say it will be from the original master source flash drive. You can't much more original master than that.
