Can spotify be far behind? (I hope not, but I fear so!)

They should have given it away free to every iTunes user.

I see that Court, Larks & Red are now available on iTunes. Does anyone know if these are the Steven Wilson mixes or if they are the 30th Anniversary remasters? I would be interested in Red if it is the Wilson mix/remaster.

These are the 30th Anniversary Remasters (original mixes) plus bonus tracks.

Thank you for the response. I'll pass on purchasing them as I own these versions already.

But, it is kind of cool to see these albums available in this format, especially with the 'unique' bonus tracks. It will be interesting to see what other extras accompany future releases for these expanded editions.

Those bonus tracks are a selection of the bonus tracks published in 2009 in the 4CD Deluxe boxset of "In the court of the crimson king".

Babby Jones "Now if we could only get some of the more obscure KC albums on iTunes..."

What the hell is that person talking about? King Crimson doesn't have any obscure albums. Each one of them is a blaring murderous supernova.

Any word one on more KC releases coming to iTunes? I would imagine Starless & Bible Black and Discipline being next in line.

  12. You're probably aware that Live at the Orpheum is now on iTunes. If not, now you are. :)

It isn't. That's why I said I hope that it isn't far behind.

Ah, I read it as you hoped they wouldn't come to spotify, but feared they would. You never know around here...

  17. Some harbor the fear of a dismal future when music is only available thru paid streaming.

Wow! A great excuse for doubling the quantity of CD's I buy per month! "In a very near future, there won't be any of these".

4 more expanded editions to be released on iTunes for April 14th- In the Wake, Lizard, Islands & S&BB. Lizard appears to be the only Mastered for iTunes release.

It will be a fantastic opportunity for new middle-aged fans to buy Moonchild without the rest of the album!!

(I say middle-aged fans because young people are abandoning iTunes).

I thought since "Moonchild" is over ten minutes it would be "album only," or did they change that?

It is, I think he was just joking.

Interesting that they have the "radio version" (ie. the middle 6:40, with no intro or outro) of "Schizoid Man" as a bonus track. That wasn't on the expanded 40th Anniversary edition of In the Court, was it? That's not really enough for me to pull the trigger again (although yes, I am a "young" fan under 30 who hasn't yet abandoned iTunes)... maybe I'll pick up Lizard.

By chance, can anyone comment on the sound quality of these itunes releases?

I only have the "definitive editions" of SaBB and Lizard, so im debating on picking those 2 up.

It is kind of surprising that they were released on iTunes before they were released as a hi res download.
