    Neil Young.

    but as good second choices,

Paul Weller, Roger McGuinn or Peter Lewis of Moby Grape.

For Judee Sill or Nick Drake, with orchestras would be mind-blowing!

I'll say Barry Manilow, not because he's my absolute favorite, but because he once said he would never tour again without an orchestra. I always thought he could do a great intimate bare bones set with just his piano. Lionel Richie did.

i saw him on the 'storytelling' tour 16-17 years ago and it was magic. would love an expanded version of that, with full versions of songs and even more stories. the man has a gift for tales, both in song and spoken word , that few (if any) can match. er...um..i.m.h.o., of course.

    cheers,
    rob
