Pete seemed way too happy. How long until we find out it's all a facade and he's actually miserable?

IMO, one had to pay much more attention to follow along than it is worth (I guess the stories and the characters don't interest me that much any more) ... along with having to remember all the details from last season in order for it to be appreciated -- moreso than with most shows. Agree about the airport scene with I'm a Man playing. Never mind that the song was from early '67, and the show is set in '69. I guess it was an oldie.

Guessing you didn't watch what you posted. As I said earlier, I couldn't find the intro on Youtube...

One theory I read is that she is bulimic or on drugs:
    • Mention of her teeth
    • Feeling faint after dinner
    • Wanting to brush her teeth before coming to bed for sex
    • Making a point to turn off the light before Don sees her naked
I dunno, it's kind of stretching things a little, but who knows.

    Good theory, though.

Funny. Even though I never caught or would have thought of most of these things, I've been convinced since the end of last year they are setting things up for something like the Manson murders involving Megan. Either that, or the writers are having fun with us putting these red herrings in there.

So Pete is wearing a polo shirt and plaid slacks, with a sweater tied around his neck, and Don says he looks like a hippie???

The whole "Megan = Sharon Tate" theory falls apart when you take into account the fact that Mad Men, for the most part, has stayed historically accurate. They're not going to break from that well-established rule and alter a major event like the Manson Family murder of Tate et al by having it be Megan murdered instead. That just would not fit with the show at all. Weiner may be alluding to the Tate murder or even toying with the audience, but I see it playing out differently. The Tate murder will happen and it will freak Megan and/or Don out enough to abandon the hillside place.

No, I believe he said Pete didn't look like a hippie but was talking like one, because he said he liked the "vibrations" in LA.

I agree 100%. Think this stuff is put in there for a sense of dread.

No, it was a contemporary song. Most people don't slice years like with music. If they know anything about the song, they know it's a late 60's song. I'm sure it was a combination of it being released in the later 60's and the generic lyics (and sound) that made choose that song.
