On their facebook page, Cake has posted that they will be offering up the box set for sale on their website sometime after RSD.

I had it in my hands this morning and put it back on the shelf. The store was gouging at $250. Hopefully it shows up on the band's site...

I got the last one at my store. I'm so excited.

well done Claxton! It was worth the wait. I am watching ebay prices, if they drop back to $200 or so I may buy it but not more just on principal. I hate RSD.

I'm just going to wait for it to show up on their site. I'm not able to go out to RSD today but we probably didn't get any boxsets up here anyway. It also sounds like they will be offering up the separate titles, too, if somebody doesn't want them all.

I hope so. I tried to pre-order it, but my local indie store isn't in the super-secret ultra indie club you needed to be in to preorder this (seriously, it wasn't available to all stores). When I discovered the weather was going to be crappy, I thought I'd head to Greenville to get one, but then I woke up crappy myself, and by the time I started feeling better, both Earshot and Horizon had sold out.

You should report them to RSD organizers. That's horse%^& I would write the band, too.

I was 12th in line about 4:45am at Spoonful here in Columbus OH, was lucky to score #7 of their 8 sets (guy behind me got #8), $139. HUGE turnout. I wish they would have made a few thousand to go around.

I find it hard to believe they would go back to the original master discs just to make a very limited release. Seems like a waste of time if there wasn't a wider release later on.

Hopefully not just a wider release of the box set but maybe the individual albums too. I just want Comfort Eagle.

The trumpet player, Vince D came by my table yesterday while I was selling lps at a local music store. Very nice guy.
I haven't seen them play since they signed with Capricorn a long time ago.

They haven't sent the link yet though have they? (I haven't received the first message and am just a little jumpy...) I don't want to lose this set a 2nd time...

Seriously. We line up in the wee hours to support our local shops, pay anywhere from $150 to over $200 for the box, then they offer it for $99 on their website. Nothing to see here cynical forum members - move along.

Maybe they planned it to screw the flippers.

Maybe the shipping charge will push it closer to the $140 I paid. The sucker is heavy. I could easily see $15 to $20 for shipping. That would make it a little less of a bitter pill at $99.

in a facebook reply they said shipping will be $35!! ouch...

though I paid $139, it's worth much much more and I'm just glad more people will be able to get it for fair price- 99 bucks and free ship woulda been an awesome bonus.

I'm glad the online retailers like soundstage and amazon etc ship a big box of records for free!

Yup. They're flipping the flippers off in order to get the set in the hands of fans. Too bad some of those fans caught some friendly fire so to speak.
