Red and Blue LPs had green Apples but different colored backgrounds, didn't they?

I always loved the Let it Be Red Apple design, and as I was buying the records way back when, always thought the custom designs were very cool (Living in the Material World)

Are there any non-Beatle Apple records with label variations? Can't think of any.

Gotta use up those leftover labels somewhere...give them to Ringo, he doesn't care! :)

Yup. There's also one country that released them both with a black background, IIRC. The 1987 'Abbey Road' is on a white background, as are the 'Anthology' albums and both volumes of the BBC albums. Same with the singles from them, too.

Similar to Lennon's Imagine label, Fly has Yoko's face.

It think the OP was referring to the Maybe I'm Amazed lifted from Wings Over America. Did the studio version come out as a single when the McCartney LP was released?

I think Extra Textire was the last original solo Beatles Apple album, and that's the reason for the half eaten Apple on the label. This Guitar Can't Keep From Crying (from Extra Texture) was the last Apple single and that also featured the half eaten Apple on the label. At least I think I've got that right.

Also interesting to see that Paul released Venus and Mars as his first non-Apple project in mid 1975. So, Juniors Farm/Sally G was Paul's last Apple release. As soon as he could, Paul got out from under Apple.

Ahh.. I think I just realized it... The Wings Maybe I'm Amazed live version is on Capitol.. Its a custom WoA label, but WoA never came out on Apple... It was a Capitol release.

That was the only color I recall for the Let it Be album label. The flexible vinyl may have been a counterfeit. There were a ton of counterfeits for Let it Be, and they were available in all record stores, not just mom n pop shops. I remember seeing counterfeits in Sam Goody.

Certainly true for most of the world. I have a copy of Venus and Mars from Uruguay on Apple though. (not my photo)
