Looks great. I've got their first pressing Stanley Kubrick Archives which came in a cardboard briefcase.

Also, do note that this could be reissued in a smaller, more compact version in a year or so - like Taschen's Kubrick Napoleon and Taxi Driver books before it.

I hope this gets released in a cheaper release soon. Would Kubrick want this released anyway?

While I'm waiting for the cheaper Taschen edition, I'll stick with my 1970 paperback by Jerome Agel with the same title, which is too expensive at $40 and up on Internet used book sites but might well be sitting on the shelves at a used bookstore near you for $3. Seek it out.

  7. I kept hoping that this would end up on a deluxe edition of 2001.

"Limited to 1500 hundred copies and each signed by Christiane Kubrick

    ."
Well, I guess you could argue he'd want his wife to profit. Maybe. I personally could care less about Christiane Kubrick's autograph. To me, that's like getting Astronaut John Glenn's wife's autograph. Who gives a damn?

Awesome. If I was single I'd buy it at $750.00 (grin).

Wow, I could've used this for $7.50 back in 1968.

How about Douglas Trumbull's autograph instead.

Oh, I could use it now for $7.50! :)

One of the best movies of all time. There will never be another Stanley Kubrick. I can't recall a year that has gone by that I haven't watched 2001 at least once.

I think it's only the Art Editions (No. 1-500) which are signed by Christiane Kubrick.
    Here's what it says:
"Limited to a total of 1,500 copies:
Art Edition No 1-500 (Art Edition A and B, with a signed print by Brian Sanders) and Collector’s Edition No. 501-1,500"

"Limited edition of 250 copies (No. 1-250), all signed by Christiane Kubrick and each coming with the pigment print Exploration team moving down moon pit ramp (1965), signed by Brian Sanders and delivered in a ready to frame passepartout"

"Limited edition of 250 copies (No. 251-500), all signed by Christiane Kubrick and each coming with the pigment print Revolving camera and control panel (1965), signed by Brian Sanders and delivered in a ready to frame passepartout"

Thanks. You're correct. For some reason that information (your screenshot) doesn't show up when I go to the website.

Would it cost less than $750 if the "pigment print" were an ink-jet printout, and the "passepartout" was a piece of paper with a hole cut out to show the image?

I refuse to buy it unless Stanley Kubrick signs it.

Absolutely! And Douglas Rain! The mystery man. He really downplays his role in the movie. Maybe a private person. But a private "actor?"

Absolutely. This must be done. I figured out what killed dear Stan, all those weeks at the editing console. That'll be the life of you.

Wow! When I bought "The Making of Kubrick's 2001" back in 1970, it only cost me $1.75!

This book has special meaning for me. When I was ten years old I looked constantly at this book's behind the scenes photographs, marveling at the magic of movie making. This book made me decide I wanted to be a filmmaker. That's the absolute truth. Other kids made heroes of Joe Namath. I wanted to be Stanley Kubrick when I was ten because of this book.
