Who's to say he couldn't set up shop in a new town and start the same old scam all over again? But I agree, I have no problem with the show if it's a prequel and brings back Breaking Bad characters who are lost, dead, incarcerated, or otherwise no longer around in our present.

Note that the Better Call Saul website is still up!

I'm hoping Levell AND Bill Burr are 'regulars'...... they make as good a team as Badger & Skinny Pete!

Rodney "Combo" Rush signs on to Break Bad Again

(AP) Actor and musician Rodney Rush, who portrayed the beloved but doomed Christian "Combo" Ortega in series Breaking Bad, has signed on to play a leading role in the soon-to-lens prequel Better Call Saul. Rush will reprise fan favorite Combo. According to Rush "they plan to develop the character, including going deeper into how I got my name. I'm also hoping that this will help raise awareness for one of my big causes, which is open carry laws."

My guess would be that he liked to openly carry around a bag of Nacho Cheez Combos TM

I'm guessing that if they're going deeper into the name thing, then it's not just that he liked to eat Combos. Or maybe they'll just be exploring his favorite flavors...

I remember there being a bag of Combos at his memorial, so it shouldn't be a big mystery.

Well that sucks. I was looking forward to it this fall.

Maybe they had problems getting Huell out of his hotel room.

    An update:

    http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/07/01/b...e-place-before-during-and-after-breaking-bad/

'Better Call Saul' will take place before, during, and after 'Breaking Bad'

Peter Gould, executive producer of AMC’s Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul, told the New York Daily News that the spinoff will jump between decades and may even include scenes that take place during the Breaking Bad timeline. This means that there’s a chance Bryan Cranston will reprise his three-time Emmy-winning role as school teacher-turned-meth kingpin Walter White.

(see more at the above link)

Way cool. Not just prequel stuff!!!!!

And now they're saying the nominal year for Better Call Saul will be 2002, though Vince Gilligan says the show will have flashbacks and flash-forwards... just as Breaking Bad did.

He says they've finished writing the first 8 episodes, though, and none of the Breaking Bad characters are in it yet:

I'm very glad to hear that Michael McKean will be joining the show as Saul's brother. McKean is a criminally underused actor who's really, really good (for those who remember such classics as Spinal Tap and some of the other Christopher Guest projects).

They'll just do a flash-sideways and claim everybody is dead.

You know, the other day, I was flipping through channels, and saw a commercial for, I think, the spanish-version of "BB"; anybody else see this?

It's up on Hulu. Same plot and characters, but different actors and settings. Kind of like watching an alternate reality version of BB.

Sounds like the series could jump around in time so some of the Breaking Bad characters could appear.
