Yet he wants Robojox 2 aka Pacific Rim 2?
I know of a lot people that want this movie to happen.
Does somebody have to start a Kickstarter Campaign?
For HellBoy 3 Pearlman, and is not getting any younger.
I also heard he wants to remake of Frankenstein .
    More of the same.

Probably for the best. Hellboy II was a big letdown.

That load B.S with all **** greenlighted this summer blockbuster
movies. a lot of overpriced turds this season that flopped.
I still say Kickstarter would be a great idea.
And don't film it here. Go over seas less studio cronies
trying give all there friend... jobs
Look at what they wasted on The Lone Ranger last year.

Neither the first nor the second "Hellboy" movies made money. I like the films but I can't fault a studio for not bankrolling a movie that probably won't turn a profit...

It's a shame the franchise never really caught on. I didn't think HBII was a let down at all. I'd love to see more, and maybe Del Toro will change his mind sometime. With the makeup, Pearlman can probably play that part anytime as long as he's healthy. But if DT doesn't want to do it and wants to do Pacific Rim 2 instead, that's fine with me as well.

I would prefer him to focus his attention on his version of Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness. He has backed off his former stance that it had to be R-rated, so now the studios are listening.

  11. I think it's unlikely to happen. As he noted there are story similarities between it and Prometheus that stole much of its thunder. Then again Chariots of the Gods stole much from Lovecraft.

Great. PG-13 Lovecraft. Sounds perfect. :sigh:

  13. Not Me. I would prefer to see del Toro complete the trilogy. Pacific Rim 2 can wait

  14. According to del Toro they did turn a meager profit breaking even in theaters with DVD and, later, Blu-ray contributing to the profits but I can't say I disagree with you given Hollywood's state right now. The fact tht we got a second film itself was a small miracle...

Maybe I need to see the sequel again.

I had really low expectations when I saw the first one, and thought it was great. That meant I had high hopes for the second one, and it didn't live up to them.

Yeah, home video definitely would've helped, but neither movie did much at the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, "Hellboy" cost $66 million and grossed $99 million worldwide, while "H2" cost $85 million and grossed $160 million.

A third film isn't gonna be cheaper than either of those, and it's tough to imagine it'd do bigger numbers. Can't blame the studios for a reluctance to throw money at a movie series that doesn't stir up much box office...

It is odd that the HB movies didn't do better. My wife really likes the HB movies, usually if she like a movie like this, it's a hit. Maybe they didn't advertise enough, I seem to remember that one of them was released at the same time as another blockbuster movie with more famous characters, that's hurt a lot of movies in the past. Didn't they have a cartoon series on TV about HB?

I bought all the dvds at a bargain price too. One is a multi disk set.

Selma Blair was my main reason for watching them.

  20. There are a couple of animated movies with the actual voices from the movies if you want more Hellboy. They've released them as a double-feature on Blu-ray.

I thought the first one was okay, but I enjoyed the second one.

A third one is very intriguing, but yeah, studios don't love to complete flashy CGI-heavy trilogies that aren't exactly pulling huge profits...

    Shalom, y'all!

Ron Perlman ,got into trouble at the comic con saying he wants HellBoy 3
He said the fans deserve it and he's it finished as well.
Del -Toro has maybe too many projects going he should cut back.
The story is done, for HellBoy 3 Perlman said it might to be funded
by kick starter. I think thats great and sad at the same time.
