The 2008 remaster bonus dvd for ToTT includes concert footage of Genesis Live in 1976. It's nowhere near a full show, but well worth checking out to see bruford with the band.

I think exactly like you. I've always considered Steve Hackett as one of the most respected musicians of the Prog Rock scene. I am a fan of Genesis and Hackett

I like this band a lot, especially the first two albums are incredible.

  6. You Sir have great taste in music! :edthumbs:

Both of those albums have just been reissued by a small Canadian company called "Classic Reissues". Remastered from the original analogue tapes and pressed at Pallas in Germany. Michael Fremer reviewed one of their other releases (they only have 8 or so for now) and he was very impressed with the quality. I bought both Harmonium's.....outstanding!

Here's a link to their site:

If you like The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway try the live version on the Genesis Archive 1967-75 box. I love the studio album but could just as easily live with this 1975 show from LA's Shrine Auditorium.

Excellent recommendation, although there are some who believe it is not a completely live album that the overdubs. For me it is the holy grail for those who like Lamb Lies Down On Broadway like me!

Didn't Peter overdub all his vocals on this?

Not all, but quite a bit, yes. Hackett overdubbed some parts as well. I typically prefer my live albums au natural, and in the case of PG, you could hear the difference in his older voice.

Yes, that is sufficiently documented and even confirmed by the members of the band.

Yes, and it is frustrating to hear the original tapes only to conclude there really was no need for the overdubs.

To the above, I'd add David Gilmour Live in Gdansk.

Yeah, I have that - the Genesis In Concert. It's the same gig as It/Watcher on 3-Sides...which means there's at least an audio tape. That, the audio, I wish they'd put out. The performance of Los Endos alone from that show would be well worth it.

As for a more complete In Concert, I'm not holding out for that one. Wiki says that the original reels are currently still in the possession of the director, but if that guy wanted to make more off of it - he would have already back when Collins owned the 80's or hopped on the 2007 box-sets/remaster campaign.

There are shows from the Bruford tour floating out there, such as Cleveland and Pittsburgh 1976 - and they're good, but they're strictly soundboards. Doesn't contain anywhere near the thrust, thundering and ambiance of the Scotland 1976 gig contained on the film and 3-Sides.

got it on cd along with a few others of his. One of the best in prolonging a chord. Hackett is awesome.

No. The whole album is not of same quality. It's am inconsistent double live set. But I always like to post content others are less likely to mention. With these lists, I always sit for a few minutes and think of something good or great not already mentioned, it's more fun that way.
