  1. "Transcendence"...it didn't quite live up to the title but it was well made. Was it predictable? Mostly but I did enjoy it. Not a great movie but not as bad as reviews made it out to be.

I just bought my first Blu Ray player a few weeks ago. Bought a bunch at Princeton Records (pretty good used selection -curiously the Criterion's are the same used as the half off sale! - guess they kinda mark them up....

    I got the following.

    1. Bladerunner 30th (of course)
    2. Cobra - you just can't watch pretentious art house style flicks all the time now can you? - just terrible but in a fun way. $3 - sue me.
    3. A Fish Called Wanda - love this one.
    4. Brazil - Criterion - haven't seen this is quite a while - spinning this weekend.
    5. Thin Red Line - Criterion - Much better than I remember it from years past - just fantastic - a bit afraid to dive into some of his other works - but I suppose I should check out Badlands and Days of Heaven and eventually Tree of Life. (??)
    6. Kingdom of Heaven - Extended cut - I kinda like this one - most didn't
    7. Terminator 2 - I was shocked how dated it seems - maybe I wasn't in the frame of mind when watching it.
    8. Rise of the Planet of the Apes - awesome.
    9. Gods and Generals - Extended
    10. Gettysburg - Extended

I've never seen Gods and Generals and Gettysburg - curious what people think of those flicks? Gonna need a lot of popcorn and maybe lots of caffeine?

May get Dazed and Confused before the B&N Criterion sale ends.

Get Badlands and Dazed & Confused both before the 50% off sale ends !!!

Gods And Generals is good, but as you can see, I'm a little biased.

Working my way through the Criterion Jacques Demy and Zatoichi boxes after taking advantage of the Barnes & Noble sale and some coupons. This will take a while, but I am enjoying it. :)

Point Blank - which I listed previously in this thread, was on backorder from Deep Discount. Having just arrived Saturday, I watched earlier tonight, and got a big kick out of the commentary track. Seems Lee Marvin didn't like John Vernon, implying he was too soft to share the screen with him.
Marvin illustrated his point by hitting old Dean Wormer so hard, he made him cry like a little girl. Love it.
