Well, it's certainly a partial return to form after AOR metal kitsch of Asylum and Crazy Nights, not to mention two new 1988 songs. Once again KISS sounded like a rock'n'roll band at times.

Now what about Revenge? Anyone A/B'ed the new one with original?

These reissues are like Lays potato chips, one is not enough. Now I will probably break down and buy HITS after reading your post and wkcchampion's posts recently about HITS vinyl. Picking these reissues up has been a lot of fun!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has posted their reviews of the 2014 vinyl releases. Thanks for taking the time to do them. They cause me to spend money, but I thoroughly enjoy reading them!

Haven't been getting my updates to this page again. So frustrating....
Anyway, slightly off topic, I went to see the boys on Saturday night in New Jersey and they were much better than I expected. Paul's voice held out for the most part. I took some great pictures ( I was fortunate enough to be in the 7th row) but I don't know how to upload any of them here anymore. When I get home today I can put some in my Dropbox so you guys can look at them.

Here is a subpar video I shot with my Go Pro video camera. It was the first time I ever used it so it isn't the greatest quality. I know for next time I guess. This is Detroit Rock City.

    Awesome Mij!!

Glad you went and enjoyed! Now you need to meet me in Vegas for the Nov. residency.....:agree:

Kiss is alive and well in 2014. I hope that others here will catch one of their shows this tour. They are putting on excellent shows right now. :)

P.S. I hear ya on the notifications. I get my alerts with the other threads....not this one.

Thanks for the footage! I enjoyed that. Where was that Holmdel? Stanley's voice was much better here than recent memory.

Yes it was Holmdel. Keep in mind too that this is near the end of the show. I think Rock And Roll All Night was the next and last song.

Thanks for the video Jim; you shot it just fine.

Why does the sound go out when the pyro pops? Sounded weird...

    Dang...; Paul's voice. It's gone.

I was waiting to hear you singin' along with RARAN...

Those pyro pops were much louder than the music so the camera compensated for it. I tried to not sing through out the show knowing you would hear me but there were a couple of times I couldn't resist in other parts I the show.

Yeah, I figured it was probably overloading the mic on yer camera...

As far as singing along, I was expecting it to be kinda like the driver of the car in the LP version of Detroit Rock City intro...

"Nnnnn....anna rnn n rll ll nnnnnn..."

Received my replacement copy last week, and I now have a 2nd defective copy. Supposedly the label is working it out with manufacturing. Progress!

Who do I talk to about a replacement copy? I never got a response from UMe when I asked them about it.

For many years I thought the news announcer talking at the beginning of Detroit Rock City was Gene Simmons. I was shocked to read it is actually Bob Ezrin. I wish I could find where I read it was Ezrin, I still think it is Gene every time I hear it.

It definitely sounds like Gene to me too but Bob Ezrin confirmed it was him.

I got the impression fixed LPs are not available yet. They said I was not the only one to complain about the replacements, and that the label is working with manufacturing on the issue.
