I watched the 1947 John Wayne film ''Angel And The Bad Man'' on Blu-Ray the other night, i greatly enjoyed both the film and transfer but what i enjoyed even more was the presence of the angelic Gail Russell, what an incredibly beautiful woman '' good actress too'' she was. I set out to find out more about her career and why she's so little known today, turns out because of her extreme shyness and insecurity she became an alcoholic at a young age and died in 1961 at the age of 36, what a sad, sad story.

Just watched my new Criterion UNINVITED Blu-ray the other night, and found Ms Russell to be quite striking.

Sad to hear of her fate.

She was a truly stunning woman and I also loved her speaking voice. Check out her filmography on IMDB, she appeared in several movies worth seeking out.

I've always liked "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" which paired her with starlet Diana Lynn (Miracle of Morgan's Creek) and later produced a sequel which I haven't seen, "Our Hearts Were Growing Up".

I checked out her filmography on IMDB, thanks, now the plan is to watch as many of her films as possible.

I just ordered the Blu-Ray of ''Wake Of The Red Witch'' and also ''Seven Men From Now'' which sadly is only available on DVD, but it will do for now.
