Exactly. I have all my LP shipments mailed to my work address. Someone is always there to receive the packages during business hours, and the boxes go straight to my air conditioned studio.

Thus proving yet again the superiority of the Compact Disc...

    :pineapple:

    Just kidding people! :chill:

I had the exact same thought - the records were already damaged before they even shipped.

Aluminum in the heat? Is this meant to be serious?

Congratulations on the positive outcome. The replacement copy — US or UK? Let us know how it sounds! Despite that earlier poster's dissing of the US pressing in favor of the UK version, I think the original US pressing sounds excellent and totally belies this album's reputation for hinky SQ. Hope yours sounds fantabulous in any case. What a gorgeous album.

It works. It is only a thin aluminum coating on essentially plastic bubble wrap. The coating reflects sun and heat. The temperature inside gets to be about the same as elsewhere in the shade. Certainly much lower than in direct sun.

Another vote here for having records sent to work. I'm in Louisiana too and it's the only way to go. Sometimes it takes them a couple extra days to get the package to my desk, but knowing it's been inside a secure room with a/c is worth the wait.

Plus you'll get to know the guys in your mail room, and they're always good people to be buddy-buddy with. :righton:

Thanks. I saw aluminum coating and thought foil on a baked potato, figuring it would keep heat in there.
