There's also another version by Herb Alpert where the melody has been slowed and slightly de-constructed. It's a whole different vibe from the original. I like both versions.

 

A great song, is a great song period!

Herb's version will always be the definitive one for me, however the Beatles and Hollies versions are great as well.

The Kingston Trio did it on their Somethin' Else album.

 

My favourite is Paul Desmond's version with Jim Hall. Stellar. Understated. Bitter sweet.

 

And also do not forget Allan Sherman's deconstruction of this classic. A Waste Of Money.
