I really loved the film. Can't remember the music that well. Will have to seek out the soundtrack.

It's been years since I watched the movie. I keep hoping for a Blu ray release.

I wasn't crazy about that movie, although I thought it was well done. I just didn't enjoy it very much. It was written and directed by Cameron Crowe, who got his start as a writer for Rolling Stone in the 70s. Needless to say, he has a strong pop music pedigree. He was also the mind behind a number of other films with notable soundtracks, especially 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High,' 'Singles' and 'Almost Famous.'

    Loved hearing Todd Rundgren

The Free Falling scene was interesting

Also the expletives Cameron Diaz says when he's dishing her

That said, this movie is Penelope

In the theater, I was amazed to see a movie use The Monkees' "Porpoise Song." I bought the soundtrack CD for the Paul McCartney title track and R.E.M.'s then-new song ("All The Right Friends").

The great thing about the movie is that about halfway through it feels like you're having a nervous breakdown! It's so confusing. Then it's all explained in a really cool way. Reading through these posts, I can (of course) remember the McCartney song and the REM song best, but really need another watch/listen.

The Vanilla Sky blu-ray was originally set for release on April 15,2014. Then it was postponed to October 14, 2014. Now it's rumored to be postponed again to December 9, 2014. Apparently it keeps getting pushed back because they keep adding special features because Cameron Crowe wants it to be a comprehensive release. I too have been and am looking forward to it.

Vanilla Sky was a mear shot for shot remake of the movie "Open Your Eyes", which featured Penelope Cruz in the same role she played in Vanilla Sky. I never understood why Cameron Crowe would do a remake.

Because Tom Cruise adds an entire new dimension to the film I reckon, and wasn't the other film in a foreign language?? What good is that? Of course it needed a remake. Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz... without a doubt it needed a remake.

Well, that's kind of good news. At least we won't be getting a 'vanilla' disc. Ha Ha!

It's took so long for this to be released on released on Blu ray that they might as well just skip to 4K now! Still, I'll definitely be getting this Blu.

2002 was a great year for Cruise. His other big release, Minority Report, was excellent too.

Don't remember it all but is has many great tracks. "Everything in the Right Place" and "Vanilla Sky" alone make the OST worth checking out at the very least.
