That one song on a universally acclaimed/landmark album that you always skip

I usually play albums that I love straight through but there are a few exceptions. Track skipping is one advantage to the little silver discs.

I almost always skip right ahead to "Time" on "Dark Side of the Moon." The tracks before it are tuneless and chaotic messes, but from "time" and onward to the end, it's perfect.

For a long time, "Country Honk" got the heave-ho when I played Let It Bleed, but now the track has grown on me, and I grant it a pardon.

"Mr. Moonlight" still gets the boot from Beatles for Sale.

I used to have to drop whatever I was doing and lunge across the room for the skip button whenever "Mother" came on during Synchronicity, but fortunately I never play that album anymore.

If I had a vinyl copy of Led Zeppelin IV with a nice stylus-width scratch running right through "Stairway to Heaven" and into the inner groove, I might call it a great album.

And I wanna go on record as saying that I think "The Word" is one of the Beatles' best songs, and possibly the best on Rubber Soul (on which I tolerate "Michelle" in context, but want scratches through two songs, "In My Life" and "Run For Your Life", thus disqualifying it from contention.)

I don't mind listening to Revolution 9. The tracks I skip on the white album are Long, Long Time and Julia. And, yes I know many people like those songs a lot, I'm just not one of them.

On Revolver, I always skip Good Day Sunshine. That track does not measure up to the rest of the album and is one of The Beatles' overall weaker songs, IMO.

On Black Sabbath's Volume 4, I always skip Changes. Always. Otherwise great album.

"Mothers of the Disappeared" on The Joshua Tree. And "Discotheque" on Pop.

I've never skipped that song, but I sometimes leave the room for three minutes to make phone-calls and do some ironing.

U2 - Trip Through your wires. Otherwise, The Joshua Tree is a perfect album IMO. It's not really a bad song, but it just has b-side written all over it.

Pink Floyd - The Dogs of War. Yes, the rest of AMLOR is very good!

Yes- City of Love from 90125

    Why is it a shame?

Disagree on Kiedis' singing voice. That has never improved, to my ears at least.

  21. Some repetition here, but what the hey:

"Country Honk" from Let it Bleed
"The Battle of Evermore" from Led Zeplin IV
"Anything Goes" from Appetite For Destruction

I've got each of those albums in my iPod, save for those songs.

I'm not in the habit of skipping tracks, but back in the early 90's when I had a Sony CD player with a program bank function I had programmed Face Value (Phil Collins) to play without Behind the Lines.
