Yep, I heard about it but I live a little too far away now. Fuggeddaboudit.

I remember the 1st audio show I went to in NYC in the 70s was not too far from Penn Station.

The first audio show that I went to in NYC was in the late 70's or early 80's IIRC and was in the hotel directly across 7th Ave from Penn Station. I remember a presentation by Mark Levinson (the man), as well as Chad Kassem of Acoustic Sounds with a couple of boxes of shaded dogs.

Tony, do we need a passport to get into Brooklyn? :)

Why Brooklyn? I might go, but for me it is a bit of a PIA to get there.

We'll be there! We have two rooms (high-end room and entry level room). Also should be a few other VPIs floating around. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I'll be there on Saturday and will invite people back to my place for drinks and a cookout after in nearby Long Island City.

Visa. You forgot to mention you also need an entry Visa.

Seriously though, this should be pretty easy to get to assuming you could otherwise get to Manhattan (of course, living in Manhattan I wish it were still being held in midtown like the last few years).

They are going to make the announcement at the show? During the press only part?

I wonder what VPI is going to announce ? Total speculation, but could it be an unveiling of an ultrasonic record cleaning machine? Just a thought

New York used to have an audio show all the time, I even went out there for it. It was called AES.

For anyone going and wanting to take the subway, get on any train that goes to Borough Hall. the show is minutes from the Brooklyn Bridge, near Borough Hall and near the Courts

Burt, I think of the AES meeting as an audio conference not an audio show, was it an audio show? Where is the AES meeting now held?

How is life in Kirkwood? How long have you lived there. Do you go to Dewy's for pizza?

I figure I should run this by some of you who live in the city since I am not very familiar with Brooklyn. I plan to take Metro North to GCT and then take the 4 Train (express) to the first stop in Brooklyn which is Borough Hall. From the map it looks like it is about a 400 foot walk from the subway stop to the audio show hotel. Does that sound about right?

Yes, that sounds about right. 4 train should take you right there. What day are you going?
