Paul McCartney at the Concert for New York.
I was cringing the whole time-----once critic generously described his set as "loose".
Plugging a new single was a bit tacky. Didn't quite pull off I'm Down or Yesterday. Not to mention Freedom.
I've seen him live twice since and it's been great but back then (2001) i thought it might be nearing the end!

That was great! The second part of that video, where they do Careering is even better.

No, that would be Bruce's lame attempt at being Slim Whitman.

Well the band were white hot but... c'mon, you gotta say that the vocals were pretty shaky. And here they edited out Axe getting VERY noticeably out of breath during Paradise City.

Sorry, I love Axl and the new G n' R, but that was a big flop.

Two examples of New Order or more precisely Bernard Sumner blowing it and his top royally live on the BBC. This went out at 5pm in the afternoon as part of a 24 hour programme called Rock Around The Clock.
As car crash TV goes it's wonderfully compulsive.

The band was fine but Mick sounded like s**t. I was severely let down after the weeks of anticipation for this show. Remember, it was pre-cable and internet - seeing the Stones on TV was a big deal then!
Sure, it was better than nothing, but could have been so much better if his voice wasn't wrecked.

That's the way they were. Saw them maybe half a dozen times in the Bob era, that broadcast captures them perfectly.

    They were great.

The KLF (and extreme noise terror) leave the music industry...Brit Awards 1992...

Blowing it in the biggest way they could. It's hard to hear but at the end there's a announcement that "KLF have left the music business" and they did. That was their last big hurrah! You should read up on what they WANTED to do but didn't get away with. God bless 'em.

I've got the limited edition 7" they did together. Man do I miss the KLF. Lampooning the music industry from within and scoring number one hits while doing it. Best joke of all time.

Jimmy Page at the ARMS concert in London... His Stairway To Heaven performance was embarassingly awful (and I am a huge Led Zeppelin fan).

Always felt sorry for Carl on that one. Murry was probably waiting in the wings to smack him for messing up. Maybe Carl was forgiven for carrying on in true showbiz tradition.

Can't find video of it, but about 20 years ago Pops Staples completely zoned out on Conan and one of his daughters singing backup had to step up and finish off the song for him.

I never saw that one, but the Led Zep performance on the Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary show was quite painful to watch...

Woof - that was a trainwreck! They almost pull it together as the song goes, but then it collapses again.

I wonder if they rehearsed at all - it doesn't sound like the band actually knows how the song goes!

I don't see what's so bad about it, especially considering it's a thrown-together band using guys borrowed from Beck and Clapton.
It's better than anything from the Zep movie with Plant caterwauling off-key in an 11-year-old girl's blouse.

Brilliant. I love Barrett's strangling of Otway near the end.
I believe after this was aired the OGWT office was besieged with requests to repeat it
