A NY/CH album full of Darryl Hannah songs after hes broken up with her, would be a good thing.

I wonder if Jackson Browne co-wrote some of the songs....

  9. How'd he get that entire orchestra in that phone booth ?

She's missing part of one of her fingers. Maybe he's just having a custom guitar built for her, and they're doing research.

Actually, he's been wearing some kind of Native Indian thing around his neck for a while. Look on the Pono video in the LincVolt. I wonder if she's wearing one too?

Excuse my cluelessness, but is the Neil\Darryl thing for real?
I've been a huge Neil fan since Buffalo Springfield and I generally don't GAF about what artists do in their personal life, but if this is true....GACK!!!

Seems like Neil releases one mediocre album after another these days (although I did like Le Noise), yet I keep checking these releases out. I suppose this one will be no different.

According to one of the players she was offering her comments to Young in between takes via Skype.

    Depressing...

  22. Neil gets the Big Chief necklace. Darryl gets the pearl necklace from Neil. See how that works?

Having debased myself, my how the tone of this thread differs from the last one. Give it time, I guess.

I'm in for this one, though.

This many years later, I'll gladly take mediocre albums, if they have at least one song I condider brilliant. Le Noise "Love and War" Psychedelic Pill "Ramada inn" Americana "High Flying Bird" and "Gallows Pole" are top 25 Neil songs for me. Anyone got a song they consider an "all timer" like that for me off of A letter Home or Fork in the Road? I have yet to pick those up.

I get your drift. At a certain point, you cut the older legends some slack and appreciate the great individual songs or tracks that even the mediocre albums contain. It's like with aging baseball players. Though they may not be the players they once were, you still cheer wildly when the get a key hit or home run that puts the team ahead. It's "padding the stats" alright , but in deference to their legacy and prior accomplishments, you still cheer. No one bats .1000. Not even rock stars....

I am bowled over by 'Needle of Death' on ALH. It is a powerful performance, and of course there is the connection to 'Ambulance Blues'.
