I have a small though growing collection of Icelandic films, latest I watched was Kaldaljós, translated to English as "Cold light". Probably the second movie I've seen with actor Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson.

It's a dark story about a child having visions of tragic events about to occur, and expressing them through drawings, the movie has a satisfying ending as the protagonist comes to terms with his tragic past and moves on with life: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0396537/

Hmnnn, if you love crimes and misdemeanors, you must be a cop or a felon.... ;)

Yesterday, I watched a triple feature. First up was 300 Rise Of An Empire. It was OK but maybe leaned a bit much towards comic book treatment. The God-King looked a bit too much like Mr. Clean. Up next was What's New Pussycat. It's was some good, clean, silly, 60's fun. It's also Woody Allen's first screenplay and acting job. I like the music too. My last film was Dr. Strangelove. "...always look on the bright side of the bomb..." ;)

Searching for Sugarman. The bit where he goes to South Africa is the best thing I've seen in a music doco. Ever.

A excellent 20th Century Fox Cinemascope film from the 50's. 20th Century Fox must still be sitting on a vault full of many similar release films, they continued to produce.... and roll out around that time period.

That is....if they have not let them simply deteriorate - through acts of sheer wanton neglect - in storage..
How ironic, now thinking back ....how Ted Turner and his colorization of many a B/ W film -was howled down as an act of artistic vandalism. At least it could said /pleaded ....." No matter how inadvertantly - he was - in fact- also trying to do something to extend the health and preservation of various films" during the VHS craze period.
