The other night I re -watched the first James Bond film-Dr No. It now belongs in what could be deemed as "risible / period -quant territory" The many references - to Dr No and his villianous perchant for dealing and handling radio active material..... are simply hilarious. A case example of a film's character - maybe - becoming radio active... so....."Oh!. You got contaminated!....Well now, simply stand here - on some horizonal moving track platform device and you will be washed by a row of showers....See your problem is solved" is the insane message. . OR ....during the film 's climax in the film: the depicted 'funny, silly & false behaviour of the exposed 'core' material , when exposed out of its water cooling chamber to the natural air.... during the DR No /James Bond final fight scene.
Reminds me of seeing the very oldest version of Flash Gordon with Buster Crabbe - where a suspended vacuum cleaner ' is blurting out exhaust smoke 0rings " served as a rocket ship. I also loved and freaked out at the same Flash Gordon's space ship control panels..... the film set decorators must have -at that time- run down to the local hardware shop and brought any form of knobs & taps they could lay their hands on.
DR NO is now THAT dated and ancient. Many of the following films in the series are also , gaining the same mantle.

3 Days To Kill - Mediocre at best. I would have enjoyed a simple action film much more. The family problems and terminal disease stuff just killed the flow.

Yes! I noticed it was very "dated". Best to watch as period snapshot of the time.
    Pity, Connery/Andress are still good.

C'mon man. You can't be holding the first Bond film (or any of them for that matter) to real life.

The Drowning Pool 1975 - This is second tier Paul Newman but I still like it. Those used to modern movie pacing would probably fall asleep trying to watch it, but I enjoy the feel of this one.

I got a kick out of it but they should change the title to The Gladiators Of Pompeii Or How I Learned To Love The Volcano. ;)
