Love AD, but Parks and Rec gets my vote.

I'd give AR a slight edge over Sunny in Philadelphia as the best since 2000. It's certainly the smartest comedy since then. I marvel at how well crafted each episode is and the depth of layers it offers. I'm also a big defender of season 4. I loved that it took a different turn. I laughed more at the repeated viewings than the first time around.

I agree with that 100%. It took about 4 or 5 episodes before I started feeling like I knew what was going on. It almost felt like I had started in the middle of the season. I appreciated that season a lot more after I went back and re-watched the first 4 or 5 episodes.

Not as long as Modern Family exists. I find AD to be too damned arch, like the Wes Anderson (who I also can't stand) of TV.

It's certainly top 5, IMO, along with 30 Rock.

I'm not sure Modern Family would even exist if it weren't for Arrested Development.

    I'll go with 30 ROCK . . .

I end up watching the shows twice, the second time to get the jokes I missed the first time laughing at a previous line. And against all seeming odds former leading man, Alec Baldwin, became one of the great comic actors in TV history.

30 ROCK managed to maintain a prime SIMPSONS-level of zaniness and density in a live-action setting. And as the final episodes made clear, it really was an old-fashioned family show at the core, with Liz and Jack the parents of the children, Tracy, Jenna and Kenneth.

It's definitely up there, though I think there are a few that rival it if not better it. The Office (UK), Extras, Curb Your Enthusiasm are pretty brilliant. If I had to pick just one it would have to be Curb.

There's been a report that Mitch has been working on a chronological edit of S4. Since it's not on the DVD box (nor did I really expect it to be), I'd guess will be aired on Netflix too (and maybe an eventual blu-ray?).

What he heck? Still no blu-ray. I WILL NOT BUY A DVD. Not ever again. Never. I was hoping the new season would lead to a complete blu-ray set. What are they waiting for?

AD is awesome, but Strangers With Candy ended October 2000, so I'm going with it. So there.
