The non-DBX version does exist. I bought mine recently from the Classifieds.

Contains studio versions of "Sweet Caroline" and "Holly Holy".

Anyone know if it's better to go with a red label Elektra of this or a Butterfly label? Also, generally speaking, any preference for one over the other when it comes to Elektra vinyl?

The Very Best of Roy Orbison- Monument Label

Steve Hoffman said: "Used the actual master mixes (unfortunately cut right out from other album masters) but nonetheless, a good sounding record if you get an early cut".

I've mentioned this before when these type of threads show up, but
again, this is as good as it gets. The Very Best is a later compilation, but the
two Greatest Hits releases on Monument are still amazing to me, and "More Of"
(below) from 1964 is still the all-time best vinyl release I've ever heard.

    High praise.

I have the "Orbison" set by Bear Family on CD & recently got a hold of the Hoffman-mastered S&P double LP release "The All-Time Greatest Hits Of Roy Orbison." Soundwise, I prefer the vinyl. I'm enough of an Orbison/Bill Porter nut to actually try out the above as well so thanks.

I would add HTM-cut UK releases of the 1962-66/1967-70/Rock 'N Roll Music by the Beatles. These sound great to my ears. I'd also add the Parlophone/EMI pressings of Greatest Hits by the Hollies.

I totally agree with America's Greatest Hits (original version was also cut by HTM), Cat Stevens and Steely Dan titles mentioned above. I also think Original Musiquarium by Stevie Wonder sounds great and any old US copy will do for this one.

U.S. pressing sounds great -- if there's a UK, it's likely to sound even better!

The non-remastered cd of it sounds pleasant too. It'd be nice if you could take a crack at that title for AF.
