The new Russian President Medvedjev owns a Kuzma Stabi Reference turntable.

The price of turntable alone without tonearm is $8K.

I'm sorry. It's not Gorbachev. It's the new Russian President Medvedjev who is an audiophile and owns the great-sounding Slovenia-made Kuzma Stabi Reference turntable.

Didn't Kareem Abdul-Jabbar lose some audiophile gear when he lost his jazz collection a few years back...?

In 1983, Abdul-Jabbar's house burnt down, incinerating many of his
belongings including his beloved jazz LP collection and stereo gear.

You know, let's go the other way for a while. :)

I'd say myself; but, I'm neither notable nor that self-centered.

I was looking originally at some Simon Phillips Protocol II videos and then came across this from Andy Timmons. I don't know if all the gear is his; but, I spy a pretty "audiophile approved" Pass Labs amp in this video; loudspeakers look impressive (no idea what they are).

Reportedly, Keith Jarrett owns a ELP Laser Turntable.

So, what other notable musicians are known audiophiles?

Although I don't know this for fact, I suspect Alan Parsons likely has the best of the best gear, give the insane extremes he would go to in order to get the best sound that could be had at any given time.
I think the same thing might apply to Fagan/Becker.

Is that the one where he's dissing all the audiophiles with their particular pressings and 5 mil sleeves?

Marc Maron, when interviewing Jack White, noted that White had like 11 or 12 McIntosh tube amps on the wall behind his desk. Maron decided he wanted to buy one for himself as part of a new turntable setup but decided not to when he found out that they run in the neighborhood of 12K a piece. So, Jack White, audiophile.

I would love to see a series of articles about performers and their systems and what they listen to.
