Another misheard interopretation of this says "wrapped up like a douch, another boner in the night". I found that on a misheard lyrics, and almost cried from laughing so hard.

The lyrics are about Supreme Court decisions that John disagreed with.

That's good. If the Beatles were using these drugs that's bad enough, but with needles that's just insane. Good thing that wasn't the case.

I most certainly remember them, and "cheeter slicks" which were slicks that had 2 gooves on their surface in order to get around laws in munincipalities that outlawed slicks. And, cops measuring the height of the rear bumpers to see if they were jacked up too high.
Thanks for the real lyrics.. now it makes sense.

"Sideboard" is the British term for "sideburn" (as in facial hair).

What does "Ono sideboard" mean? I have no idea. Most likely it (and the entire song) is nonsensical stream-of-consciousness. Attempting to "interpret" it in the manner cited in the original post of this thread strikes me as a fool's errand, likely to lead to some ridiculous claptrap.

Sorry, but you left out some lyrics in the first verse of Come Together, here is the complete first verse:

Here come old flattop, he come grooving up slowly
He got joo-joo eyeball, he one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please

This could change the meaning altogether. Holy roller would point to George, as well as Got to be a joker, George
was always noted by close friends that he had such a sense of humor the public was not aware of. George was also the one with long hair during the later years. Not sure what joo-joo eyeball refers to.

Afraid the ship has already sailed on that one--and on that ship is a station from which the train is about to leave.

Okay, in an effort to get this thread back on track, I submit the following from my "huh?" collection:

    Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey

You can take all the tea in China
Put it in a big brown bag for me
Sail right around the seven oceans
Drop it straight into the deep blue sea

What does this have to do with the "She's so sweet" part?

    I'm flummoxed.

Hmm, after reading this thread, I think I have a clue
Perhaps it has to do with Yoko being from Japan (which is next to China) and John and Yoko's "bag-ism." The seven seas stand for the seven Beatles: Stu Sutcliff, Pete Best, Jimmie Nicol, as well John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Sailing around is an obvious metaphor for their touring which stopped when they "drop[ped] it into the ocean (again, metaphorically) on the flight home from California after Candlestick Park.

A sideboard is a piece of furniture (common in the UK) that stores silverware and crockery. Even though the lyrics of the song are total gibberish I doubt he was writing about approaching the bench to discuss something with a judge without a jury hearing it.

Re: sideboards - didn't Lennon refer to his ever-present sideburns as "sideboards"? Could swear that I read that somewhere.
