After being rumored, postponed, cancelled and Lord knows what else, who's got some FACTS on the proposed reissues of Supertramp's CRIME OF THE CENTURY?

CDJapan's entry now lists it for a November 1, 2014 release, followed by "Release Postponed".

    http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/UIGY-9550

Universal's High Fidelity Pure Audio Blu-Ray appears to have been permenantly shelved, and there's been no further whispers of the rumored 40th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition (or was that merely wishful thinking???).

So what are the facts on the current state of this highly anticipated reissue?????

I have no idea, and I don't think anyone else here does either. Here's hoping we will see the SHM-CD, Platinum SHM-CD, and SHM-SACD on November 1st. Universal has slowed down its release of HFPA Blu-Ray discs, so I wouldn't count on one of Crime of the Century.

You might want to ask a Gort to edit the title of the thread to "Crime of the Century" instead of "Crime Watch". I almost passed on reading this thread but the "SACD" part caught my eye.

They show the same status for the Platinum SHM-CD. Both discs are still showing on my pre-order, but I expect to get a cancellation notice. I'm not surprised given that the Blu-Ray disc and remastered regular CD are slated to be released soon.

I'm seeing the same on my COTC cdjapan preorder. I had a feeling it would be cancelled after seeing how quickly the Breakfast in America SHM-SACD went OOP. I hope the COTC Bluray will have the same definitive SQ that the BIA SHM-SACD has :).

Given the sound on the BIA Blu-ray I would not bet the house on it. ;)

You should get a refund, send an email to whoever you bought from. It should not be a problem.

The MFSL CD is excellent, but I hope Universal gets the Blu-Ray disc right, making it the latest definitive version. :)

afaik Ken Scott and Ray Staff remastered COTC for the 40th so the HFPA could be pretty good/ass-kicking! :)

So many threads about this that I wasn't sure where to post. This is now available in hi res from pro studio masters. Cool!

I downloaded the 192/24 hi-res from Pro Studio Masters. I feel it's a fairly good version, but I feel the MFSL Gold CD is superior.
