actually I need to re-buy the theatrical cut because IIRC, they cut a scene that I liked in the extended cut!...I cannot remember exactly, but I did notice it gone when i watched the extended version.

    Femme Fatale.
Opening 20 minuets the action and music 'Ravel's " Bolero " compliment each other. Well worth repeats.

The Pink Panther (2006, Steve Martin)

Re-makes are almost always dangerous territory, especially when it comes to a film that's somewhat regarded as a "classic" in its genre. I generally like Steve Martin and thought he might just pull this one off if any one could, but it just was (aside from the usual few bits that you can't help but laugh at) a little too lame for my taste. As with so many shows and films these days, it seems when you have no other idea of what to do just try toss in a silly wiener (or berries) gag and see if that'll get you through to the next scene. Might have been funny once (or twice) upon a time but it just reeks of bad lazy writing now.

A Lot Like Love. Ashton Kutcher is really good in this but the film would have died if they'd included the deleted scenes in the theatrical version.

It's been a while since I viewed it but I thought that Steve Martin was as good as it could get to tackle the part. On the other hand, I concur that the writing was not so good and that deflated the project. I've never watched it a second time....

I watched Outlander last night. It's best sci-fi flick ever that's set in 709 A.D. Norway. I also watched the first 2 discs of Stargate SG-1. I like the show but it's badly encoded to DVD.

    Nah, I'm a hillbilly, which makes me spoil't.... ;)

Season 1 of Stargate SG-1 really is poor looking with MPEG2 motion problems. I think they hired a 3rd rate compressionist.

"In 2002, after news arrived that a rival female diver named Tanya Streeter had successfully gone to a record-breaking 525 feet, Pipin Ferreras began preparations for Audrey Mestre to make a 561-foot dive off the coast of the Canary Island. Having completed practice dives even deeper in the weeks leading up to the record attempt, Mestre was prepared. But because of a fateful decision before the dive, Mestre never resurfaced alive."
