I got that CD in a store last month - very nice sound, music is pretty excellent. Only problem is that it is only 10 tracks and about 3 of them are later and you probably won't care about them much, so it doesn't even come close to covering the ground in terms of missing early material by Seger. But for that price (less than one might pay for a single) it's worth it IMO.

It is all rather strange, BMG was sold to Sony and then Bertelsmann immediately created a new BMG doing all the same things except actually issuing product, it's not surprising people are confused, I guess someone at Sony slipped up with the contract for BMG to start over again with the same name and in the same business.

I think they must have been - I missed out on "Arthur" and just got a new copy- it had a clear plastic "Deluxe" slipcase- the other earlier Kinks DL I ordered had the dreaded "DELUXE EDITION" scotch tape....

But it basically offers nothing that the devoted fan doesn't already have.
All material has anyways been released previously, some even numerous times already.
Also, Lemmy told us that no-one should buy that box as its only cash in from earlier record-company.
I have seen this box in real size and it's not actually that cool looking anyways..

But, if someone has some extra money and interested in Motörhead and is probably starting out with the band, then this might be one choice for you...

The original price was $600? (now it's about $100)

I purchased this (or, rather, chose it as a present when someone wanted to get me something) when it was on a previous offer at about £78.00, having all the original vinyl LPs but nothing on CD at all. I was (and am) delighted with it: possibly not the best available sounding CD versions but then its Motorhead, and how much refinement are you really looking for when listening to them? The packaging does look good on the shelf in my opinion, filling one cube on one of my record racks quite neatly:

Not worth the original RRP and of questionable value if you do already own the albums on CD but if you don't own them and want them, and at the price it presently is (assuming Amazon.uk can supply), I would be happy buying it.

Dose it use the Remaster version for the cds? because those were pretty loud and compress...

Do the eyes on your box glow red as shown in the promotional picture above?

They flash/blink/glow red in a variety of ways when you lift the top of the box (which is the black plastic helmet bit) out of the lower part (which has the chrome plated plastic skull attached to the front), though the advert is a bit misleading in that the flashing red part is the very centre of the eye, rather than the larger sort-of-semi-circular bit that is shown at the top of the page. Regarding which mastering version they are, I have to say I am not sure, though remember reading something (probably on this forum) saying that it isn't the very best one available. What I can say for sure is that it definitely sounds like Motorhead if you have it at the right volume.

about the sound quality - "isn't the best one" is one thing, the remasters are other thing- they are loud and compress.
