I never liked the drug song, Lady Day or Rock and Roll, but I love Satellite of Love, Vicious, and especially Sad Song, from Lou Reed Live. IIRC, doesn't Vicious have a Hunter/Wagner epic intro too?

"Vicious" does have a Hunter/Wagner intro, but it's not as epic as the "Sweet Jane" one. "Heroin" is probably a case of you had to be there, I much prefer the VU version.

I think it's been said that Hunter and Wagner are in switched channels on Live compared to Rock N Roll Animal.

Why does the OP assume none of these are in anybody else's collection, and what is the OP's argument for why they should be?

Got a 'ton' of live albums, I prefer 'live' albums, but I do need to get the following, someday ...

    1. David Bowie: Moonlight tour '83 (saw him in Perth - gotta get that allbum)

    2. Velvet Underground at the Factory (Oh boy, IF you can FIND it...there goes the used price!)

    3. 1969 Velvet Underground live

    4. Uriah Heep LIVE

    5. Jeff Beck: Live at Ronnie Scott's

There are quite a few good to great live albums added as a bonus to the expanded editions of regular studio albums, so they tend to be overlooked.

Velvet Underground - "Live at the Gymnasium '67" (on "White Light/White Heat" deluxe)
Traffic - "Live at the Fillmore East '70" ("John Barleycorn Must Die" deluxe)
The Who - "Live at the Young Vic '71" (on "Who's Next" deluxe)
Marvin Gaye - "Live at the Kennedy Center '72" (on "What's Goin' On" deluxe)
Man - "Live at the Roundhouse '73" (on "Back into the Future" expanded)
Allman Brothers Band - "Live at Winterland '73" (on "Brothers & Sisters" super-deluxe)
Pink Floyd - "Live at the Empire Pool, Wembley '74" (on "Dark Side of the Moon" experience)

Who has the time these days to listen to more than a starting two-three minutes from a given album? There is so much music to check that there is really no time left for listening! ;)

I don't think the Who played better than they did at the Young Vic shows. They really peaked during that era.

    They shouldn't be in mine.

That "Thin Lizzy" live album is lame as I recall (and I'm a huge fan)

The one you want is "The Peel Sessions". I haven't heard the latest BBC box stuff, but Peel Sessions is great.

Merle Haggard - Live at Billy Bob's Texas: Motorcycle Cowboy. Merle's band is smoking hot and great tunes.

You should hang the lp's around your neck when you go out in public so everyone will know how special you are. That's what I do.

The Graham Parker and Southside both had official releases, so those shouldn't be that hard to find.
