This picture is fan-made super imposing her eyes from another shoot (for the Human Nature single). The real picture is less fantastic:

I don't even know how long ago that quote is from me, lol, but now I know that if you get it from that CD, it's a needle drop, but you can get a digital version of the remix/edit of "True Blue" (which was the UK single version) on a CD called "Simply The Best Of Warner Music UK". You can also get the remix of "La Isla Bonita" (which was the UK single version) on a CD called "The Hits Album 6". "Open Your Heart" also had a remix which was the UK single version, but as far as I know it has never been released on CD.

It's not a needle drop as far as I can hear.

One of the most underrated songs in her discography.

It's on the b side of at least 3 of her singles. It's her Sugar Mountain.

Now listening to Confessions on a Dance Floor. Oh Madonna!
Such longevity and innovation. She has a stronger body of work than most of her 80's peers. (Michael Jackson,Prince,George Michaels, etc.)

I recently picked up the reissue lps of Erotica, Ray of Light, and Confessions. It's been great revisiting her post-80s work. All solid efforts, and nice sonics to boot. I would also like to see a reissue of Immaculate. Nice 80s compilation.

Yes I did. Lol I bashed it in another thread too and now I regret it. :sigh:
I wanted to listen to the albums that I disliked at first listen. Sometimes it takes a few listens for things to click.
Confessions was one of those albums. The production is top notch! Makes me want to dance my ass off.
As for American Life, I still hate it. I don't want to, especially since it's the black sheep. I want to give it the love it's missing out on but the album just isn't that good.

AL does have some good moments, but it's not one I play often. I like the Bond theme on it because it was such a left of centre choice and everyone hated it. Elton John said it was the worst Bond theme ever! MDNA is more typically Madonna, but I find that embarrassing and cringey.

MDNA at this point is too embarrassing to even listen to. It's only in my playlist because I'm a completist but after the second time of listening to it in it's entirety I realized that was enough.
Maybe I'll revisit that album in 10 years but even then I'll be hesitant. I'll even go as far as to say American Life is slightly better. :hide:

I think when I first got MDNA I talked myself into liking it because it was new! Madonna's lyrics have never been her strongest suit but the ones on this album are really terrible. The only thing on it that's close to her comfort zone is Masterpiece. A strong, timeless Madonna ballad.

Masterpiece sounds like a "Music" outtake. It might even fit better on American Life. Now every time I heard singing over an acoustic guitar I think of that album. (Ugh)

Now Masterpiece reminds me of something like Take A Bow or Live To Tell...Funny how we hear different things..
