To say that Taylor Swift fans are excited for the singer's new album 1989 to be released on Oct. 27 would be an understatement.
Case in point: When a track containing nothing but eight seconds of white noise was accidentally released under the album's name on Tuesday morning, it shot to the top of Canada's iTunes chart almost immediately

Seriously?? I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at these I-Tunes buyers. You want to buy 8 seconds of static from me as well?

White noise would be better than anything else on the radio.

Taylor Swift's 8 seconds of white noise would make a great Black Friday "Record Store Day" 7" 45.

She's going to be the only platinum selling artist in 2014, I bet. I was just looking at Amazon's top sellers chart, and Taylor Swift's album is at No. 5. Funny thing is: You'd be right to be confused about what year it is by looking at the rest of the top 10 on Amazon:

    1. Barbara Streisand
    2. Neil Diamond
    3. Annie Lennox
    4. Slipknot
    5.
    6. Tony Bennett
    7. Aretha Franklin
    8.
    9.
    10. Bob Seger

And coming in at No. 13: Pink Floyd and at No. 16: Jackson Browne.

Guess we know who's still buying CDs these days.

The 8 seconds of silence, I'd buy. At least it's in tune. (Grins)

With her being a white girl, most of her music is white noise! lol

Actually, I have began to like the Shake It Off tune of late.

I was going to DL it but I read the Japan for US vinyl pressing is the way to go if you really want to hear those 8 seconds the way the artist intended, and with OBI strip....
