Roger Waters "Amused To Death" SACD 5.1 Why is it delayed again?

Of course, I was being facetious. On the other hand, I am not aware of any updates on where this project stands. This is par for the course for Analogue Productions (and MFSL).

 

It's delayed again because you don't want it badly enough yet. They can sense these things....

There isn't an album on the Planet I want more on SACD. There is a couple that are close, but that is numero uno. I never pre-order on things because they are usually available for months if not years. ATD I pre-ordered because on the off chance I missed it my range on this title would easily go over $200. I've had it pre-ordered for over 19 months now. Dates have come and gone. The 5.1 was previewed in April. Why the delay? Because of the new Pink Floyd we only heard about months ago? I don't think so. I could buy that they release them on the same date to piggyback on the press of the new (old) Floyd release.

Did you get clips or the entire album?

The Brain-Damage website as an interview with Guthrie that talks about Amused to Death and gives a few into the reasons for the delays but no new release date.

 

They played the entire album as well as DSOTM and WYWH. I missed about 20 min of ATD. He played it from files on his computer so it was likely not pressed yet.

Yep, me too. I would just like a date. A year and a half and the date was missed, a further update is warranted. I hope they are not thinking of doing a deluxe Waters box with the Wall Live and the SACD Amused To Death and the individual albums. I wouldn't be so mad if they hadn't demo'd the entire thing in April. What the hell?

I don't like how the new Acoustic Sounds catalogue doesn't give Amused To Death any mention at all. Not Amusing.

 

Probably around the time he decided to release it on SACD and charge double for it.

Acoustic Sounds has indicated that the release date for the 5.1 SACD is sometime in June 2015.

German jpc-shop refunds the pre-paid money.

 

A track from the 5.1 SACD mix was also played last October at the Super Audio Center Tour in Boulder during the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. Acoustic Sounds says the details and release date on the Amused to Death Multichannel SACD will be coming very soon. Stay tuned....
