There a number of personal favorites such as Glass Houses, Empty Glass and Super Trouper. I finally went with Heaven and Hell (an album that ironically, I wasn't even aware of at the time.)

1980 was, for me, the first great year for music.

A lot of great albums this year. I went with Glass Houses from the list. Still fresh, fun and punchy 34 years later. However, I'd have to say the album that really stood out for me was the Xanadu soundtrack. As an ONJ and ELO fan that would surprise nobody, but it really does work as a great pop album as well as a film soundtrack.
