    Thank ye kindly...
I totally agree that most online postage rates today bite and they reduce the
bargain factor, but I consider them a necessary evil if it's an obscure DVD title that
    I really want.

My DVD collection is a mere fraction of yours.
But, like yourself, I still dig hunting for them.

    "Interview With the Vampire" (1994).

I usually prefer the older Universal classics, but this one is interesting. I showed it to my nephew.

I've been collecting for many years...sold off many and bought them all back one by one used...SO SAD! I just missed many of the titles! NO MORE weeding of the collection.

  4. So for some lighter entertainment today, I finally watched Joe (1970), which I mainly knew from a Mad magazine parody I read as a kid. Peter Boyle sounds off about hippies and wields guns (oh groovy, man) and Susan Sarandon makes her screed debut.

    Brutal.
I went through that same bit with my CDs.
I gave many away because I already a newer "remastered" version.
Ended up buying many of my older CDs all over again.

I still have all of my DVDs that I have obtained over the years though.
    Lesson learned.

too bad the lessons are so damn expensive, but at least we have the comfort of their return!

Just finished watching the 2008 half epic "Australia". Decent film, a little long though but a good story. I've also always been interested in the country's history since I was about 16 which the movie had a lot of and as an added bonus the scenery is fantastic. The Stolen Generation plot is a story that needs telling so we don't ever repeat those same mistakes.

    All in all, quite enjoyable.

I saw "Lucy" and "The Equalizer" on a cold night at the drive-in last Sunday.

I thought "Lucy" could have been a little better developed but I found the concept interesting and was entertained throughout.

"The Equalizer" might have been the most disappointing Denzel Washington movie I have ever seen. Too dark, too violent, too long.

  19. I vaguely recall reading an interview with Sarandon where she talked about how naive she was making that movie. The sound guy convinced her that he just had to be lying on the floor beside the tub while she stepped over him, while naked, to get in the tub . . .stuff like that.

Fury - well done WWII flick. Not as good as Thin Red Line or Saving Private Ryan but still a worthy addition to the genre.
