contemporary soul songs that approximate early 70s magic

I was wondering if anybody is aware of any recent songs that come close to the kind of soul we heard from the Stylistics, Dramatics, Marvin, Al Green ?

The closest thing I've heard myself to that early-70s sound myself, after the fact, was some of Culture Club's songs - Time, Mistake #3, Black Money.

I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for but Charles Bradley sounds like he's recording for Stax.

 

Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. More late 60s early 70s vibe.

Joss Stone has some great neo-soul sounds.

How 'bout D'Angelo? Kind of a 70s-80s-via-hip-hop vibe...but I like a lot of what I've heard. This guy's waaay overdue for a new album.

 

Miguel's "Adorn." A lot of the stuff on both Janelle Monae's albums, in my view. And this is more late '70s but I can't recommend Rhye's Woman highly enough for the slow jam contingent.

Michael Kiwanuka -- Home Again is his debut, to my ear it has an early Van Morrison acoustic vibe

I love retro sounding songs and although the following aren't all that recent, they were mostly overlooked ...

Average White Band - "Easier Said Than Done"

 

Rumer is a female singer from England, who has a very similar voice to the late Karen Carpenter. Her new album "Into Colour" is about to be released in November and this is the first song from it, called "Dangerous". It has a mid '70's soul vibe to it, once it gets going.
