Albert Collins with Robert Cray and Johnny Copeland - Showdown! Amazing album where all three of these great performers were ON.

That looks great....put that on my "need to get" list...

one of my alltime favourite albums:

"Buddy Guy & Junior Wells play the Blues"

produced by Clapton in the early '70's, features the J Geils band as backing musicians....fantastic album

Johnny Winter. His first album is a monster.
    Freddie King - Burglar
    Lowell Fulsom - Tramp
(yes on this release it's Fulsom, the guy who owes you money is named Fulson)

My wife knows zero about music...No favorite bands, etc...So I couldn't take it anymore so we went to Memphis for the weekend...days and nights filled with live blues and barbecue ...On the plane going home she says, OK, i get it now, that was fun....

Free's debut, Tons Of Sobs....................they always had the blues feel if not always the structure..............not a bad one in their six studio and one live albums...........guitarist Paul Kossoff a superb feel player, gone long before his time...............

Couldn't agree more. Free combined blues, rock and soul to make one of the greatest bands ever. My favourite album is their second album, simply called Free, but they are all great!

In terms of a "pure" blues album then once you've digested Muddy and the Wolf, this is unbeatable IMHO:
