great show. too bad it only lasted a year. one of the best.

  3. I went with Bill. His mannerisms get a little annoying but he's pretty funny. I can see my middle school self having a nerd crush on him.

Yep, a comedy-drama about American high school "outsiders" circa 1980.

Doesn't seem to be available on Region 4, unfortunately.

    Mr. Weir! Without a doubt.

    Mr. Kowchevski is great too.

All the characters are great, really. Just Mr. Weir and Mr. Kowchevski have the most memorable lines. "Ladies, ladies! This isn't the last chopper out of 'Nam!"

  9. I also have a soft spot for Mr. Rosso. Mr. Weir is funny, too.

Absolutely POSITIVELY one of the greatest television shows of all time IMO. Perfectly captures those awkward high school years to a tee.

I think Harris was probably my favorite character that wasn't one of the main players. I find it hard to believe his entire acting career consisted of Freaks and The Royal Tenenbaums. Martin Starr's portrayal of Bill is probably who my vote will go to.

I agree, so why am I the only and first vote for her so far? :shh:

Gah, I like them all for different reasons! Can't pick just one. I guess I'll go with Daniel, since I still laugh every time I hear him say "use the quadratic fawmula".

Gun to my head, Mrs. Weir for her deliciously, deadpan, barely keeps a smile with her wity take on life in the burbs. It's such a great show, I'm watching it over, and over on IFC lately :righton:

Mr. Rosso 'cause he's the hippy-hipster guidance counselor caught between two worlds.

    Lindsay is a hottie.

This show actually made me appreciate the Grateful Dead - see the episode, "Discos and Dragons"

I was just about to write something like this. But I voted before reading it and in fact voted for Harris (I'm the only one so far, I think), because even during repeated viewings, his deadpan mannerisms still crack me up. He was so believable as a high school freshman in that oh-so-awkward sense. Love his bit in the Tricks and Treats episode, as well as his sage-nerd persona, when he gives advice on confronting bullies or the correlation between demographics and the quality of candy disbursed on Halloween.

Bill has the edge over Lindsey for 2 reasons:

1 He warned (or tried to warn) JR
2 The hilarious comment to the girl "well only 3 1/2 minutes left in heaven"

My third vote might be Lindsey's dad.

Been getting caught up on Freaks & Geeks via Netflix.

My vote goes to Bill with Mr. Weir a close second. I also really enjoy Thomas F. Wilson's portrayal of the gym teacher.
